At the Community Police Forum we want to hear YOUR VOICE.
Give us your views, share with us your sentiments, tell us your stories, give us your gripes, give us the GOOD and give us the BAD.
We can only try and make the bad better when we know what it is
and have had the opportunity to address it.
Our aim is to reach out to the community of Table View, and that means YOU

I would just like to say WELL DONE and THANK YOU to the Table View SAPS: In the mornings we leave Table View via Gie Road, which as most residents know, is completely backed up at the best of times.
For months my flat mate and I have been saying how we wish someone would post a "Cop" at the Circle Weg intersection so they can fine all the people pushing the queue, DRIVING UP THE WRONG SIDE OF THE ROAD, up to that intersection. We all sit and do our time in the traffic, abiding by the rules of the road and then there are Chancers and people who think they are above the law and exempt from practising safe driving. This morning (16 October 2009) within a space of 2 minutes, an SAP official had managed to flag down and pull off 8 people attempting their usual morning route of skipping traffic. My friend and I sat laughing our heads off in the car as one by one he showed them to a spot to pull over.
Its about time those folk got their comeuppance! I would just like to say that the officer on duty was alone as we passed, yet he stood there with his group of "pulled over offenders" receiving the sharp end of an irate gentleman's tongue.
I admire the Table View SAPS for the things they do for us. It’s not easy to stand there taking verbal abuse from someone who is so clearly in the wrong and still mange to smile at the end of the day.
My hats off to you! I must also say that as we got to the Le Afrique complex, another SAP van pulled up to assist the lonely official, so thanks to you too. In fact Le Afrique’s intersection could do with an official in the mornings too as some people who realised that they were going to be pulled over, pushed through to this intersection and snuck up the side road.
One particular person attempted this in the path of an oncoming bus and he had to pull off onto the sidewalk (on the wrong side of the road) so that he didn’t cause an accident. I really do hope that the SAP presence on that bit of road will be a more frequent thing. I’d also like to say thank you for the increase in Police presence in the area of late.
Christmas is always a tricky time with house break-ins and things. I’m almost confident enough to walk up to the shops now knowing that sooner or later a police car will come past so I’ll be okay. Thanks thanks and thanks for putting your lives and families on hold to protect residents and people you don’t even know. It’s admirable to say the least. Keep up the good work.
Warm regards, Jay (Table View)
Dear Jay
Thank you for taking the time to visit our web site and lavish our hard working police officers with so much praise! Most people tend to take the time to complain, but few make the effort to acknowledge a job well done. I will make sure that your thanks is sent to our Station Commissioner and I am sure our Webmaster will proudly display your letter on our web site!
While the limited staff at Tableview SAPS cannot be everywhere at once we do appreciate the high visibility that is happening in our area – now it is up to us as the public to assist by being their eyes and ears and protecting ourselves and our neighbours with vigilance. The CPF vision for this year has been to create awareness amongst all residents so that we are all part of the solution in making this community safer and I know this is a wish that is strongly endorsed by our new Station Commissioner.
Again our sincere thanks
Best Regards

” I would like to say thank you to the police officer who alerted us that our garage door was standing open last night. Unfortunately we did not get his name; he was very friendly and made sure all was safe before he left. Well done to him and all at Table View who go that extra mile at making the residents feel safe, they are very visible day and night. Keep up the good work. Regards A and family
Dear A
Thank you for visiting our web site and for taking the time to offer your thanks for good service! People tend to take the time to criticize but are not so quick to thank! I am sure the officer concerned and our Station Commissioner will be grateful and I will make sure this is forwarded on to them.
These types of letters go into their files and assist with promotion so I wonder if you would mind giving me your street name or Sector that you fall into so that we can identify the officer on duty.
Once again on behalf of SAPS, my sincere thanks.
Glenda
