This year the Schools Forum will focus on bringing about a positive change in fostering a closer relationship between all the principals, the hundreds of teachers and the thousands of children in our area with SAPS.
Unfortunately a reality of this area is the children often become the first-focus of criminals because they are the soft targets in stealing cell phones, robbing children of their bags in the hope of finding money and so on when walking to and from school.
SAPS is all to aware of the modus operandi of these criminals, but it also takes an effort from the parents in educating their children NOT to talk on cell phones when walking to or from school, a quick snatch-and-grab and the child’s ONLY means of communicating with his or her parents in the event of an emergency is lost.
There have also been a number of reported incidents where a child has been waiting for their lift or ride home have been approached by strangers and coerced into a strangers vehicle. PARENTS it is vitally important that YOU get the message across to your children NOT to accept a lift from a stranger - NOT to even get into their car!! When they are waiting for a lift home, they are to wait INSIDE the school property.
It will be wonderful to hear from you, the parents. Please feel free to use the “submission” box below and send whatever suggestion you may have through. Looking forward to hearing from you.
The information on all the schools has been updated and can be downloaded in PDF format.
Its ALL about making a positive difference in the lives of others. You can do it too!!
Regards
Barry Meyer
