It is believed the concept of the Neighbourhood Watch began in North America and in the late 1960’s and is one of the BEST crime prevention methods in any neighbourhood.

In its broadest context, a Neighbourhood Watch program brings together local law enforcement, city officials and the residents of an area in a working partnership to reduce the incidence of crime and illegal activities in an area. These crimes and illegal activities threaten every single member of every single community and the most successful way to discourage this crime and illegal activity is by way of a Neighbourhood Watch program.

In Johannesburg, areas that have introduced Neighbourhood Watches and Street Committees enjoy a reduced incidence of crime and in Cape Town similar stories are true.

A dramatic reduction in crime became quite evident when Fish Hoek introduced their Neighbourhood Watch, similarly in Hout Bay the same trend was seen and the success stories are too numerous to mention.

It is now Table Views turn to reduce crime in the area and an appeal goes out to YOU and your neighbour to be a part of the solution in reducing the levels of crime in this area.  Be a part of a network of concerned residents, patrolling your area, watching our for your neighbour as they watch out for you.

Trustees and residents of Sectional Title Complexes can join and have their complex registered as a separate Neighbourhood Watch area and owners and residents of the units can become proactive in combating crime in your Complex.

The Community Police Forum are in the process of establishing the broadest network of Neighbourhood Watches to all ALL residents in ALL areas of Table View and are looking for committed individuals who will be keen to join these efforts in establishing and being proactive in the success of this network.

If you have prior experience in Neighbourhood Watches elsewhere and would like to share this information with us and be a part of this crime prevention solution then kindly Join NOW by completing the the form below.
