All the people in Table View, Blouberg and surrounding areas form a community whether it is as a result of residence, belonging to a specific church group, school or profession, participating in a common interest such as sport, and owners of residential or business property.
As part of the community everyone has the responsibility to take joint ownership and liability of the area, and not always find fault in what is happening.
In every business the shareholders partake in not only the profits but also the shortfalls and as such we as a community must be willing to share and be involved in the positive experiences and changes as well as the negative elements such as criminal activity affecting ‘our’ community.
If we desire change then remember that change begins with each individual who is willing to change his or her attitude and make a positive contribution to the community instead of sitting on a fence like many spectators at a sporting event who complain about their team which may not be playing well.
Let us all take hands and be committed during 2011 to ‘play the game’ and in so doing become part of a winning team and necessitate a positive winning culture in ‘our’ community.
The focus of the Community Police Forum during the year 2011 will be ‘commitment’
- If your are already involved stay committed to ensure a healthy and safe community
- If you are not yet involved, become committed to a specific area where you can make a difference
Remember that by taking ownership; together we can make a difference in our community.
Once again, thank you to all our community role players, SAPS, organisations and leaders who are committed to making the community of Table View, Blouberg and surrounding areas safe and healthy.
May God bless our community.
